Neil Patrick Harris is adding "director" to his list of skills.
Harris is stepping behind the camera to direct an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" this week. The episode features guest star Amanda Peet as one of Marshall's (Jason Segel) co-workers.
"Directing 'HIMYM' this week. Equal parts overwhelm, education, and exhilaration," Harris tweeted Thursday night. "But directing while acting in a scene - very strange. Meta."
The episode, which will likely air Jan. 18, will mark Harris' debut as a director. It will also be a rare "HIMYM" installment not directed by Pamela Fryman, who has helmed all but a handful of the 97 episodes that have aired so far.
